Match Trivia

The Rangers having a free day on Saturday, and four of their players at the international at Paisley, fixed up a friendly with the Academicals at Hamilton, and the game attracted about 5000, the gate being over £100. The Academicals stared, and in five minutes MacIlvenny scored easily. They continued to have the best of matters, and then the Rangers got away, and Chalk scored a smart goal. They continued to pressure them, and forced a corner just at halftime. On the restart the Rangers again were on the aggressive, but the Academicals were the first to count McLean being responsible. Then Paton equalised, and soon after the same player added a third. This was all the scoring, the game being one of little incident neither side overexerting themselves. But the Academicals must improve a long way on Saturday’s form to reach First League form. Result – Rangers 3 goals: Hamilton Academicals 2 goals.
