Match Trivia

Jock Hanlon Benefit Match, Teams representing Hamilton Academicals and Rangers took part on Monday night in a benefit game on behalf of Hanlon, the Hamilton right winger. There was a fair attendance, and it is anticipated that when the returns are completed the beneficiary will receive something like £100. The Rangers played a delightful game, the many bright movements of the forwards, the fine understanding displayed by the half-backs, being all to the liking of the spectators. Early in the second half Rangers’ centre snapped a goal, which caused the Academicals to make a special effort, and three shots by McLaren were not far off the mark. From a free kick King equalised, and later on Kelly finished off a fine effort by recording the winning goal
