Match Trivia

At Oval, Belfast before 4000 spectators, in fine weather. Rangers wanted Wilkie and Neil, while Glentoran had Hattie and Smith off, Hamilton with the wind scored for the Rangers 10 minutes from the start. McMaster the home left back, got injured and retired for good, being replaced by Beggs the 2nd X1 back. At halftime the Rangers led by 1 to 0. In the second half the Rangers played even better and were soon two goals in front, Alex Smith and Hamilton getting through, and giving Lewis no chance. Glentoran had one chance through Waddell, who missed badly. There was no more scoring. Result – Rangers 3: Glentoran 0.
