Match Trivia
At Brockville Park, Falkirk, estimated attendance 10,000, drawings (gate and stand) £235. Considering the conditions under which the match was played the game was a wonderful one. At the opening Rangers attacked strongly with McPherson finishing well, but eventually Falkirk adapting themselves better to the ground, were the more aggressive side. Twice Skene missed pretty centre from Dickson, and Devine failed to score from a penalty, but in the end Devine took a centre from Sinclair and shot a fine goal. Towards the close of this half the Rangers were unfortunate in not equalising from a corner. Falkirk were again very dangerous at the opening of the second half, Skene just missing and Simpson forcing Rennie to concede a corner. Then Mitchell got hurt and did not resume, and after his absence Rangers for a time played desperately. Livingstone just missed with a fast shot, Campbell put two balls just wide of the post and McPherson shot over. The Falkirk halves pulled their side round, and at the finish it was a very level game
