Match Trivia

Hugh Hamill Benefit Match - Clever and fast football marked the benefit game to Hugh Hamill of Falkirk, at Brockville Park, last night. The Ibrox team was not nearly at full strength, but with Dawson in goal, McDonald at left back, and a generous sprinkling of first-class reserves they looked good enough to hold the opposition. Falkirk, however, were decisively the better team, showing splendid football all through. Their three goals came from Dawson, Carruthers and Keyes, the last in the second half. The Ibrox colts did not strike their beat, but Latif was keen as mustard and frequently earned the plaudits of the 5000 spectators. Drysdale, Winning, Dawson and McDonald were best in defence, while Galloway was a clever forward. Cowan, Sneddon and Shankly were the stars of the Falkirk side, all of whom played well, however. Hart took the place of McKenzie, who was injured, in the second half
