Match Trivia

About five thousand spectators saw Rangers heavily beaten by Falkirk at Brockville Park last night. Rangers were without Gordon and Logan, and Falkirk lacked the services of Croal, Lennie and Gibbons. Smith gave Rangers first goal, but that was all that fell to the Ibrox team. Robertson equalised, and after Lock had saved a penalty from the same player, Miller put Falkirk ahead, and they led at the interval by 2-1. The second half was Falkirk’s, and with Miller scoring two more goals, Rangers were well beaten. Falkirk played forcing, clever football throughout the second half. Dash told its tale, the young Falkirk players showing a zest and keenness that was painfully absent from the other side, where the play of Smith, Galt and Hendry was the only redeeming feature. Campbell, however, sustained a concussion early in the game, and played on without knowing exactly what was happening. He fainted at the finish. Falkirk’s half-backs were the backbone of the team, Reilly being specially good, while Orrock kicked grandly. Lock might have saved two of the goals. Robertson missed a first half penalty
