Match Trivia

At Dens Park, Dundee, estimated attendance 31,000, drawings (gate and stand) £778, the drawings constitute a record for Dundee. One of the most keenly contested games of the season ended, as it deserved a goalless draw. The feature was the half-back play of both teams, the whole six being much too clever for even the smart forwards opposed to them. Dundee were the better side in the first half, without their superiority being too pronounced. In the second portion Rangers played an improved game, and Stark shadowing of Hunter put the normally effective Dundee front line out of gear. Neither side shot well, and as has been said all things considered a draw was the best result. It looked as if the occasion was too much for many of the participants, and possibly the replay at Ibrox on Saturday will produce better football
