The Rangers gave their services yesterday in aid of the Perth Disaster Fund, a strong Ibrox team opposing Dundee at Dens Park. The weather was dull, but there was a fair attendance. The opening was characterised by quiet play, but a shot from Halkett deftly parried by McPherson, enlivened matters. The play thereafter was faster, and from a foul Stark got through for the visitors. From a corner kick a few minutes later Gilligan equalised matters. A pass by Smith allowed Mackie to notch a second point, but the home team had been disallowed an off-side goal, McFarlane squared matters from a corner. Near the interval Muir was beaten for a third time by Walker. The inter changes after the resumption were brisk, and a great shot by Lennie put the teams on an equality once more. It was a case of alternate scoring, and Walker getting through Wilson, must needs perform similarly for his side. Mackie for the fifth time best Muir and the Rangers gained a splendid victory by 5 goals to 4
