A product of the youth system at Ibrox, striker Robert Davidson made his first team debut on the final day of the 2003/04 league campaign. A late substitute in a 3-2 win over Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park, 18 year-old Bob was joined on the bench by fellow youngsters Bajram Fetai, Gary McKenzie and back up goalkeeper Lee Robinson in a match that would see captain Michael Mols red carded in his farewell appearance.
Bob's other outing for the first team came at Pittodrie the following season, Alex McLeish throwing him into action with Rangers trailing to an early Inverness Caledonian Thistle goal (on promotion to the top flight, Inverness initially played their 'home' matches at Aberdeen). Replacing midfielder Hamed Namouchi at the interval, Rangers would salvage a point through a Nacho Novo strike.
