The opening stages were in favour of the Rangers, but the Clyde rallied, and more than held their own till halftime, when there was no scoring. The second half was resumed with the Clyde having only 10 men, Hendry being unable to take up his place, and although the Rangers held the upper hand thanks to Dickie, who played a magnificent game, the match resulted in a draw, no goals being scored.
