Match Trivia
Last night the Rangers and Clyde played a Glasgow League fixture at Barrowfield Park, before about 2000 spectators. Rangers had the wind in their favour in the first half, but their opponents completely outplayed them, their backs and halves defending splendidly, and after twenty minutes play Stevenson scored. The home team continued to have all the better of the exchanges and added a second goal, the teams crossing over with the Clyde leading by 2 goals to 0. In the second half the Rangers put Miller centre forward, and Hyslop went back in his place. The change worked well, but the Clyde men showed great determination, and it was on ere A Smith scored. The play became more even, and in the growing darkness a third goal was scored for the Clyde, and their opponents replied with a second goal. Towards the close it was difficult to follow play owing to the darkness, and a game in which the Clyde showed their superiority almost throughout ended in a victory for them. Result – Clyde 3: Rangers 2.
