Match Trivia
History repeated itself at Shawfield. Rangers winning by the same score as last year, Reid being the scorer on both occasions. It must be admitted however, that the Clyde did not deserve to drop both points, for even the most partisan Rangers follower would be forced to admit that the home lot deserved at least a division of the points. The high wind had a large say in determining when the most of the play took place, and as the Rangers had its assistance in the first half and the Clyde the second, it followed that the team defending the west goal were nearly always fighting to keep the ball away from their goal area. It was the other goal, however, which was captured, Reid capping a grand bit of play by Stewart and Duncan by scoring a characteristic goal. The game all over was quite a good one despite the gale, although naturally many well-intentioned movements were upset by its vagaries. Both goalkeepers got plenty to do, and did nothing to smirch their reputation. Blair, Gilligan, McAndrew, Gordon and Galt were grand in defence; while the most useful workers in front were Duncan, Stewart, Jackson and Thomson
