Played on the ground of the Clyde at Shawfield, before a large attendance, some 10,000 including many ladies, being present. The gate money came to £225 and the Stands £25. The weather was exceedingly warm, and the football was naturally not of the fastest description. The Rangers showed by far the superior football, and at halftime led by 5 to 1. The first goal was scored by McPherson, Hyslop (who was the best of the Rangers forwards) had the second and third, the fourth was from a scrimmage, and the fifth was by A Smith. The Clyde goal was taken by Thomson from a penalty against N Smith. In the second half each side scored Robertson for the Rangers with the best shot of the match, and Dunlop for the Clyde and the game ended in favour of the Rangers by 6 goals to 2
