Match Trivia

Harry Rae, the Clyde half-back, had no luck with his benefit at Shawfield last night. Owing to the wretched weather conditions the attendance was extremely disappointing. As a matter of fact, the total receipt for the evening were only round about £25. I understand, however, that the Clyde club are to stand in and make Harry’s benefit something much more substantial. Allowing for the heavy, greasy ball, it was quite a good game. At the end of 35 minutes Devlin beat Gould with a regular trimmer on the run. Henderson tried hard and often to square matters, but half-time arrived when the fellows from Ibrox one down. A few minutes of the second half had only gone, when Sr Roch’s Rollo, playing a very clever game, drove one at Shingleton from about the six yards line. Tommy touched but couldn’t hold it. Henderson and the Clyde Johnstone had one or two near things after this, but that was all. We got no more goals
