Match Trivia

The third match in the tour arranged by the Scottish Cup holders attracted 5000 spectators to the Chatham ground, and a splendid match was witnessed. Mortimer was the first to score for Chatham, and Jackson and Low then registered a goal each for the Rangers. Two goals were added by Vail for Chatham, who led at the change of ends by three goals to two. Some capital play was witnessed in the second half, and the Chatham custodian was unlucky in dropping the ball into the net from a shot by Smith, bringing the score level.
