Match Trivia

The trek to Parkhead today for the first of the Celtic-Rangers Southern League fixture was brisk and early. Long queues trailed away from the gates and at least one-third of the crowd were in uniform. Accents suggested that many of the soldiers and sailors were seeing the famous match for the first time. Celtic were compelled to make a disappointing change. New man Joans could not play, and Crum was placed at centre, with Conway at inside right. McKillop turned out at right for Rangers.
