At Celtic Park, Glasgow estimated attendance 25,000 drawings (gate and stands) £689. From the start the Rangers took the game in hand and keeping a firm hold all through finished worthy winners of the cup. All over the winners were much superior to the mixed team of youth and experience placed on the field by the Celtic. Worse however was to follow a mix up in the Celtic goal allowing Bennett a clear run in, Adams having no chance to save the right wingers shot. Rangers thus crossed over with the comfortable leas of three goals. Seven minutes after the resumption, McLean scored a fine goal for Celtic, but shortly thereafter they gave away a penalty, from which May brought out full points.
