At Celtic Park, Glasgow, estimated attendance 28,000 drawings (gate and stands) £762. Celtic had the pull in the opening staged, and their right wing in particular were too clever for the defence. They failed however to take their chances, and Rangers should have opened the scoring, but the best Murray could do was to shoot into the hands of Adams. The next run of the Celtic right wing ended in a goal, Munro taking a pass from Quinn and cutting past Craig to beat Rennie. Five minutes later Rangers, who improved as they went on equalised, Adams touching a shot from Murray to Yuille, who scored. Mainly owing to good half-back play Rangers continued to have the better of the game, and four minutes from halftime McDonald put them ahead. The Rangers were first dangerous in the second half, and things looked bad for Celtic when Hay and Mitchell had to have their injured heads repaired. Eventually the game changed completely Celtic pressing strongly, but failing to score and the Rangers breaking away, Murray crowned a nice bet of forward work with a good goal. Although Celtic were the much more impressive side, they could make nothing of the Rangers defence until the last seconds of the game, when Quinn breasted a centre past Rennie
