Match Trivia
Played at Celtic Park, before about 32,000 spectators. The Rangers, who played the same team as drew the game a fortnight ago, had the advantage of the wind in the first half, but were unable even to act on the aggressive, and were a goal down after five minutes play, Hodge beating Dickie with a soft header. The Celtic continued to have the best of the play, and McMahon scored from a corner with a strong shot, which Dickie could not reach. In the early stages of the second half the Rangers showed a slight improvement in play, but they were distinctly weak in shooting, and could not take advantage of their chances. Returning to form, the Celts again took the game in hand, and McMahon and Bell both added goals, thus putting the result beyond doubt. Up to the close the Rangers struggled on but could not settle down, and retired defeated by 4 goals to 0
