Match Trivia
The Scottish Cup finalists met in an Inter-City League fixture at Parkhead in bright but breezy weather before an attendance of about 10,000, the amount drawn at gate and stands being £310. Winning the toss gave Rangers the assistance of the wind, but they profiled little thereby, and were seldom dangerous. Adams was only twice called upon, and had some difficulty in clearing from Mackie. Clever work by Hay let Hamilton away and a centre from the latter was headed against the post by Bennett, Paton struck the crossbar at the other end, and McMenemy scored for Celtic, but was adjudged offside. Halftime – A draw no goals. Quinn scored for the home team ten minutes after the interval, and despite some smart saving by Dickie the same player added a second goal with a fast high shot. Rangers were outplayed in this half but the Celts were inclined to take things easy, and a fairly interesting game ended – Celtic 2 goals: Rangers 0
