Moses Ashikodi (2006 to 2007)
Following a successful trial, Rangers signed the 18 year-old striker from West Ham United in January 2006.
Moses began his career at Millwall and his performances in the youth side saw him handed a first team debut at the age of just 15. That substitute appearance against Brighton & Hove Albion made him the youngest player ever to play for Millwall's first team. However, his time at The Den ended in controversy when he was involved in an altercation with a team mate at the Club's training ground. Following an internal investigation the player left Millwall by mutual consent. Whilst West Ham United were prepared to offer Ashikodi a second chance, the player failed to make the breakthrough at Upton Park and was instead sent out on loan to Gillingham.
The incident appeared to follow Moses for the remainder of his career where he felt he was unfairly labelled as a trouble maker by those with no real knowledge of events.
A move to Rangers represented a fresh start for the youngster away from London but he was limited to one solitary substitute appearance during his brief stay in Glasgow. Bizarrely, it came in the toughest of all fixtures when he replaced Chris Burke in the final moments of a goalless Old Firm clash at Parkhead. This was outgoing manager Alex McLeish's final Glasgow derby.
When the 2007 Winter transfer window opened, Moses returned South to join Watford.
The next decade would see Ashikodi moving almost constantly from club to club in England's lower leagues.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, but raised in London, Moses represented Antigua and Barbuda at full international level.
