Match Trivia
This important fixture came off on Meadow Park Whifflet Coatbridge. From the fact of its being the first occasion on which the renowned Glasgow team has visited Coatbridge there was a great interest taken in the contest and despite the bitterly cold weather there was a very large turnout of spectators. The ground was extremely hard, and thus good football was out of the question. For a considerable time it was thought that the Rangers by their scientific play would have it their own way, and were several times very nearly scoring, the ball just grazing the bar, but luck was against them, and notwithstanding very hard fighting the Rovers won the match by two goals to none
