Match Trivia

Rangers without exerting themselves outclassed an Airdrie eleven that can never have played worse. It was apparent from the beginning Rangers were in for a P.S.A. Smith was leaving Brennan standing. Divers had not the least idea how to play McIntosh. The Airdrie defence collapsed. Junior never got a chance to show his abilities, as Symon was too experienced for him. Anderson, in goal, get my sympathy, he had no chance with the goals. How easy it was for Rangers was shown by the fact that the scorers were able to place each ball where it was wanted. One wonders what the score would have been had Charlie Johnstone been able to play, as little Beattie could not get going at all. Flavell was the only Airdrie player, along with Anderson, who gets any credit. All the Rangers, with the exception of Beattie were outstanding.
