George Carroll Benefit Match, Seven goals were scored in George Carrol’s benefit match at Broomfield Park last night, and the odd one went to Airdrieonians. Four thousand people witnessed a fast and interesting contest in which the younger men on either side excelled. Archie Morton, Chalmers and Ireland did especially well for Rangers. Gallacher opened the scoring with a ‘penalty’, and he added other two goals later. Chalmers was the most thrustful Ibrox forward, and he counted twice before the interval. In the second half McDougall increased Airdrie’s lead, and before the end Dick raised the Rangers total to three
