George Carroll Benefit Match, Seven goals were scored in George Carrol’s benefit match at Broomfield Park last night, and the odd one went to Airdrieonians. Four thousand people witnessed a fast and interesting contest in which the younger men on either side excelled. Archie Morton, Chalmers and Ireland did especially well for Rangers. Gallacher opened the scoring with a ‘penalty’, and he added other two goals later. Chalmers was the most thrustful Ibrox forward, and he counted twice before the interval.
