Match Trivia
At Pittodrie Park, Aberdeen estimated attendance 8000 drawings (gate and stands) £213. Rangers were the better side in the opening stages, Bennett and Livingstone shining, and Mutch had to save from Smith and Murray. After Rennie had cleared from Wilson Lennie, Aberdeen gained six corners. These were all cleared and Rangers improving scored twice within five minutes and led by two goals at halftime. The game was of a forcible character in the second half, and two of the Aberdeen players were handicapped through injures. Under the circumstances they did well in not losing further points. Taken all over the Rangers were the superior side, and much of Aberdeen’s ineffectiveness could be traced to Sharp’s mastery of Lennie.
