Match Trivia

Played at Paisley in presence of a large turnout. The ground was very heavy. The Rangers lost the toss and had to defend the west goal. For the first few minutes the play was slightly in favour of the home team but after this and throughout the rest of the game Rangers played with excellent judgement and accuracy. Time after time they bore down upon their opponents backs and out manoeuvring them carried their citadel. In these said their colours (Heggie and Thomson) especially distinguished themselves for their brilliant dribbling and accurate short shooting. At halftime the score stood Rangers 4 Abercorn 0. On crossing over the Rangers still maintained the mastery and eventually won by 10 goals to 0. For the winners Reid and McIntyre at back and the whole of the forwards played in grand form: while for the Abercorn Fulton at halfback Goudie at forward and Cameron at goal showed best
