Bobby Russell (1977 to 1987)
Bobby had a meteoric rise to the Rangers first team, swapping Shettleston Juniors for a place in the 1977/78 Treble Winning side. A truly gifted midfielder with deft touch and vision, Bobby would spend a decade at Ibrox during which time he made 380 appearances scoring 47 goals.
Winning 1 League Championship, 3 Scottish Cups and 4 League Cups, Bobby remains a fans favourite more than 35 years after leaving Rangers and is forever associated with his wonderful goal in Eindhoven in 1978.
During his time at Ibrox he demonstrated an almost telepathic understanding with Davie Cooper on the pitch and when those two were at the top of their game Rangers were generally a different side even in the most difficult periods. His relationship with Davie continued at Motherwell when their spell at Rangers came to an end under Graeme Souness.
