Benefit Match, Four thousand spectators watched a game at Rugby Park last night, on behalf of the McWhinnie Memorial Fund, which started in quiet fashion but finished like a cup-tie. Overall, a draw was a good result, for if Kilmarnock had the better of matters in the first half, Rangers forced the pace in the second. Kilmarnock scored after thirty minutes and it was the result of good work by Mattha Smith, who tipped the ball to Cunningham for the centre to drive home. Before that Kilmarnock had had a run of corners which were always dangerous, and Marshall had had a good try for Rangers. In the second half both goals ran some narrow escapes. Rangers put more vim into their work, and had their reward in a good Fleming goal, the inside left walking the ball through. To the end the play was keen, but the defences held out
