Mattha Gemmell Benefit Match, When the returns are made up ‘Mattha’ Gemmill, the Clyde trainer will get a substantial benefit as the result of last night’s game at Shawfield. Rangers paid him the compliment of turning out a strong side, while the Clyde were almost fully represented. As in most of those benefit, there was a lot of pretty play, particularly on the Ibrox left wing, where Alan Morton and Tommy Craig scintillated. ‘Wee Alan’, at his best, scored a characteristic goal. Gray, the ex-Aberdeen Mugiemoss back, came through with much credit. A nice kicker, he had not a great deal of close tackling to do, but when required he used sound judgment. All the reserves half-backs did well, particularly Hodge; in front, McKay was always in evidence. Outstanding for Clyde were Ralston, Gibson, Cowan, Hood and Ballantyne. All the scoring was done in the first half. Hodge got the opening goal with a fine drive, Morton the second after a five individual effort, and Henderson the third. Cowan had hard luck in not scoring for Clyde in the first half, a hard drive striking Hamilton
