Match Trivia

Paddy Cannon Benefit Match, In recognition of his 16 years’ service as trainer to the Hibernian FC Paddy Cannon got the benefit at Easter Road last night. Fully £45 was drawn at the gates. The 200 spectators witnessed an attractive game, largely in the nature of a battle between the Hibs’ defence and the Rangers forwards. That no scoring took place was due mainly to fine work by Girdwood and Templeton at back, and to a really clever exhibition of goalkeeping by Paton. Two of the saves from Parker and Paterson were of the miraculous order. None of the Hibernian forwards gave a very impressive display. The pick of the line was Anderson, who reappeared after a long absence due to injury. Of the two other inside men, both of whom were juniors on trial, Blyth looked the more likely lad. The Rangers’ backs were hardly so sure as the Hibs’ pair, but Gordon and Henry played a strong game at half-back
