Match Trivia
Although the game was not taken too seriously there were many interesting features in the game at Ibrox for the benefit of Craig, the Rangers left back. Notable among these was the delightful wing play of Hogg, and the success of Reid in the centre, who scored three goals. On the right wing Millar fell into a nice combination with the Englishman, and the old East Stirlingshire player only requires to put a little more life into his work to bring him to the front. Millar scored for the Rangers after five minutes’ play. Ramage having done the leading up work, and then Mitchell a little while after got the equaliser for the visitors. Reid got another couple of goals for the Rangers before the interval, and after the resumption put on another. Yuille got a fifth, and although Falkirk tried hard to get the better of Lock they could not increase their goal register. For the Rangers the backs were safe in all they got to do, and Campbell was prominent in the Middle line, while the forwards struck a good combination, Hogg and Reid being most prominent. On the Falkirk side Stewart did well although so frequently beaten, and Taylor was the better of the two backs. McDonald and Anderson were best in the half-back line, while Mitchell and Raeside were conspicuous in attack.
