Match Trivia
The holiday fixture between Rangers and Cowdenbeath at North End Park yesterday drew together a large crowd. Both teams were strongly represented. Cowdenbeath tried several new players. The first half was evenly contested, the defence of both sides being able to check any likely run by the forwards. During this half McColl and Brown had some lively tussles, the latter on several occasions having the better of the Internationalist. Cleland, who was tried at outside left, had several good tries, one of which Sinclair just managed to clear with noting to spare. Half-time arrived with no scoring. Shortly after resuming, Niblo, Dunnikier Athletic, who was playing centre for Cowdenbeath, had to retire through a collision with an opponent. The Rangers were now forcing matters, and soon had the defence in trouble. McColl, rushing between the backs had little difficulty in beating Dickson with a swift ground shot. Shortly afterwards he scored the second in a similar manner, a feat he again reformed before the close. The game ended in a victory for the Rangers by 3 goals to 0.
