These teams played a match last night at Easter Road in aid of the building fund of Leith Catholic School. Rangers played a scratch eleven, while Hibernians were without several of their usual team. There would be about 500 spectators present. In the first half the home lot had the bigger share of play, and shortly after the start they scored from a penalty. Robertson fouling McGeachan when the latter was close in. Stewart took the kick and scored. A second point was added by McGeachan, and at the interval the Hibernian led by two goals to nothing. The Rangers in the second half played down the incline, and about ten minutes after the start they were awarded a penalty kick, from which Craigie scored their first point. The Rangers after this almost monopolised play, and several time Rennie was called upon to save stiff shots. Ten minutes from the finish the equaliser came, Rennie being beaten by a shot from close quarter by Lennie. Result :- Rangers two goals; Hibernian two goals.
