Match Trivia
There was a poor attendance at the friendly match between those teams on Ibrox Park last night. The weather was miserable, and in the circumstances the teams decided to play only 35 minutes each way. There was no scoring in the first half, but play was interesting, and both goals were repeatedly visited. The Saints had perhaps the better of the exchanges, and their forwards went in for the game that paid – banging ahead and taking every chance of testing Dickie. Greenlees was unfortunately injured, and had to leave the field. McAvoy being allowed to fill the vacancy. The second half was a repetition of the first, with the exception that the Rangers had most of the play. They frequently were down on Patrick, but the custodian was in great form, and performed brilliantly. The Rangers forwards could not get through the Saints defence, and ultimately time was called with a goalless draw. Both teams were handicapped by the greasy state of the turf, and if nothing brilliant was shown, play all through was brimful of incident.
