Match Trivia

Played last night on the ground of the Rangers at Ibrox. The teams were both experimental, but the Rangers eleven was a strong one, while the Saints were men new to First League company. The early stages of the game were all in favour of the ground lot, and McPherson and Hamilton scored in the first five minutes. Up to the close of the first half there was no further scoring, the teams crossing over with the score – Rangers 2 goals: St Mirren 0. Play became very uninteresting in the second half owing to the weak play of the visitors, who were seldom dangerous, Dickie easily accounted for their shots. Hamilton scored a third goal for the Rangers after half an hour’s play. Near the close Wilkie scored, and a very uninteresting game ended – Rangers 4 goals: St Mirren 0
