Played at Govandale Park, Govan last night before 2000 spectators. Rangers won the toss and played with the wind in their favour. The game was very fast at the start. After 20 minutes had gone Miller from a pass by McPherson put on the first goal for the Rangers. Linthouse could not get an opening owing to the strong defence. Near halftime McPherson scored a second goal for the Rangers from a scrimmage. A minute later the same player headed a third goal from a corner. Halftime result – Rangers 3 goals: Linthouse 0 goal. The second half was only about two minutes old when Simpson scored for Linthouse with a lovely shot. They continued to press, but could not increase their score. As time went on the Rangers gradually got the led again, and Miller and McPherson each added a goal. Final result – Rangers 5 goals: Linthouse 1 goal.
