Match Trivia

Friendly game on the Rangers ground, before 5000 spectators. The Rangers lost the toss and kicked off against a pretty strong breeze. Renton were soon busy a fine run by Gilfillan and White being neatly stopped by N Smith. Then the Rangers broke away, and after a futile shot by McPherson, Gray scored the first goal ere five minutes had gone. The Rangers indeed had nearly all the best of the play, and led by 5 to 2 at halftime, ultimately winning by 8 goals to 4.
