Losing the toss, the Rangers kicked off with the sun in their eyes and a slight breeze against them. The Linthouse at once took up the running, and within five minutes J Steel put on their first goal with a swift shot. The Rangers had a look in after this, but not for long, as the Linthouse forwards by some splendid passing and dribbling soon got into Haddow’s vicinity again. J Smith tried a shot, and again Haddow was beaten. Soon afterwards Kerr, from a pass by Barker, scored the first goal for the Rangers. Halftime result – Linthouse 2 goals: Rangers 1. In the second half the Rangers strove their utmost to equalise. Their efforts were successful, Davie who was suspiciously like offside, heading the ball past Leslie for the third time. Result a draw, three goals each
