Match Trivia
A Large turnout of spectators assembled at Inchview Park, Whiteinch, to assist at the return fixture between these teams. In the previous match the Thistle snatched a victory, winning on the call of time by 3 goals to 2. On Saturday the Thistle were out in full force, while the Rangers were without four of their team who played for them in the Glasgow Cup tie. The Rangers lost the toss, and kicked off. Even play followed for some time, each goal being assailed in turn. The Thistle if anything were having the best of it, but Gow and McKenzie defied all efforts to score, McLeod and Paul each tried shots, but both were wide of the mark. The Rangers next took up the running, and several times called upon McCorkindale to save his charge, which he did remarkably well. When halftime sounded neither team had scored. The second half also began well for the Thistle, and McLeod missed the goal by inches. Two corners in succession for the Thistle proved fruitless. Hislop and McPherson then put in a run for the Rangers, but McCulloch stopped their progress. Returning to the charge, Kerr cleverly scored the first goal for the Rangers. The Thistle played up with renewed energy, and after an exciting scrimmage in front of goal, Paul equalised amid cheers. From this till the close the game was very lively, and even, but no further scoring was done. Result – a draw 1 goal each
