Rangers won home at Fir Park last night, where they raked in the points in the first half-hour. Alan Morton for the better of McDougall early, but the first ‘near thing’ came from Walls, who brought Rundell to his knees with a grand shot. After 30 minutes play Muirhead sent in a shot which Rundell handled but failed to stop. Five minutes later, Cunningham counted rather easily, following an unsuccessful Fir Park claim for offside, which was disallowed. Approaching the cross-over, Ferguson made a characteristic try, which brought Robb to his knees, but no goal. If Rangers dominated in the first portion, it was Motherwell’s second half. The ‘Light Blues’ were kept continually on the defensive with Dixon the hero. Arthur seemed to have the knack of being on the spot when danger threatened.
