Big feature of the Ibrox game last night was a hat-trick by young McPherson, two goals in the first half and one in the second. His opening score was of the soft order; Brown should have saved. The others were commendable efforts as on each occasion McPherson had to carry the ball some yards while hampered. There was a lot of good, keen football in the game, but the smallness of the crowd didnt lend the right atmosphere to the proceedings. However, the 2000 present showed loud appreciation of McPhersons performance. With the memory of that great goal against Dundee United fresh in their minds, the spectators put Jimmy Smith on a pedestal. And there was a special hand-clap for Bob McPhail. When last did Ibrox sample so many accurate cross-field passes as the veteran produced. Wallace showed just how he can hit them when he converted a penalty kick near the end
