Match Trivia
Albion rovers put up a good fight at Ibrox. They kept the Rangers out until 20 minutes from the end, when Bowie picked up a goal from a corner played by Archibald, and Reid followed with other two. Rovers had chances in the first half, when, had their centre been up to take a pass from Ribchester they might have counted. After the breather the Rangers were easily the superior side, although not too convincing. Indeed, not until they got a goal did they exhibit anything like their usual confidence. Albion rovers were handicapped by having to play men out of their position Wilson, the ex-Celtic half-back, was right back, and McCormack , the Parkhead forward, played centre half-back. They were splendidly severed by their defence, in which Penman put up a particularly fine game. Wallace was the best half-back, and forward Gray and Ribchester were best. Rangers were sound in defence. Gordon was the best middleman, and Cunningham and Bowie the best forwards
