Match Trivia
Despite the fact that they played without Orrock all the second half, Falkirk put up a remarkably good game against the Rangers. Indeed just prior to Cairns getting the first of his two goals – both came along in the closing ten minutes – the Brockville forwards had been giving Hempsey some trouble. Livingston, the Rangers’ Strathclyde recruit, made a splendid appearance, Sergt Gordon was as clever and nimble as ever, Cairns and Lawson were splendid forwards and Manderson was a sound back. Gray, the old Celtic and Ayr United forward, did nothing specially brilliant in a Falkirk ‘ten’ which stretched the Ibrox team, who, however, thoroughly deserved their victory
