At Ibrox Park, Govan estimated attendance 10,000 drawings (gate and stands) £208. Aberdeen forwards combined well in the first half and fully held their own. Lennie and Blackburn had accurate centres missed, but it was otherwise with the Rangers for Bennett picked up Smith’s cross and scored. Some fine feeding by Halkett let Blackburn away, and a pass to Simpson allowed that player to bring his side level. It was a very even game until halftime. Rangers improved in the second half, Mutch having to save from Bennett, McPherson and Gilchrist and latterly Bennett gave Campbell an opening, which he took. Two runs by Lennie ought to have bought a goal, but twice Niblo failed, and the Rangers going off again Gilchrist scrambled the ball through
