Match Trivia

The big match in Newcastle and the cup-tie at Easter Road dwarfed club football on Saturday. At Hampden Park there was very little of the ‘strenuous life’ in the League game between the Queen’s Park and the Rangers. The latter had always a little bit to spare, and managed to beat a weak Q P team by the odd goal. The destination of the points was settled twenty minutes after the game commenced, Livingstone cutely headed a fine centre from Smith into the net, and a minute later Campbell managed to deftly put the ball between Fletcher’s legs to Livingstone, and the inside right, standing unmarked promptly scored the second point. A good part of the second half had fled when Sim scored for the Queen’s though McLean and Key deserved credit for the manner in which they worked the ball up the wing
