The result of the Ibrox game flattered the Rangers. They led at halftime by three goals, a score absurdly at variance with the run of the play. The Clyde were the better eleven in the outfield, and if only they could have utilised the opportunities they got they might easily have crossed over level at the interval. In the second half they were rather out of it, but the absence of a half-back of the calibre of McAteer would affect any team adversely. The fact that the Rangers only scored once in this half testifies to the pluck of the Bridgeton men. Like Campbell on the other side, McCartney distributed the ball with discretion, but the Clyde centre had not the shooting ability of the Ranger, who had three of the goals. Smith took the ball along the line in quite his old style, but his finishing was deplorable. Dickie and Livingstone played delightful football, while Campbell and Brackenridge made most ground for the Clyde, and seem to be improving every match they play. Stark and McAteer, in their respective sides, filled the bill at half-back. The ‘Light Blue’ was a great factor in the success of his team, and had the second goal. Craig was the better back for the Rangers, as Gilligan was for the Clyde
