Match Trivia

These teams met at Shawfield Park before 4000 spectators. Play was fast at the start, but the forwards on both sides, save Kyle and Smith, lacked method. Stark wrenched an ankle early in the game, and had to be carried off the field. Even with ten men the Rangers hold their own. The shooting on both sides was poor. Smith and Brackenridge sent across several centres, which were not utilised. Halftime – No scoring. The second half was no better than the first several simple chances of scoring being literally thrown away. Rankine and Kyle alone tested Mason, while Sinclair had some difficulty in dealing with good shots by Brackenridge and Hamilton. The Rangers had to play all this half without Stark, who was unable to resume. A very poor game ended in an even draw. Result – A draw, no scoring. Drawings £101 3s 9d
