Match Trivia

Played on Fir Park, Motherwell on Saturday before fully 5000 spectators, the weather was fine. In less than ten minutes from the start Motherwell opened the scoring through T Findlay. For the next half-hour play was fast and interesting, and Motherwell if anything had the best of the exchanges. Nearing the interval Kyle equalised, following by a second goal for Motherwell from Galbraith. Haltime – Motherwell 2: Rangers 1. The second half was not long started when McNeil gave away a penalty, and Kyle scored the equaliser. Motherwell created quite a sensation by rushing down and scoring a third goal almost with in a minute R Findlay taking the goal. After some midfield play Kyle again equalised. Motherwell were now complete master of the situation, and it was only a miracle that saved the Rangers goal. Ultimately a penalty was given against the Rangers within a few minutes from time. R Findlay took the kick, but the ball rebounded off the post into play again. Till the close Motherwell continued to pepper the Rangers goal and the visitors were lucky in carrying away a point. Result – A draw, 3 goals each
