The fixture between these teams too place at Port Glasgow on Saturday in somewhat wet weather and on heavy ground, a before an attendance of nearly 7000. His injury will probably keep him from play for a about a month. The first half ended – Port Glasgow 0: Rangers 2. On resuming Port did not seem daunted by the score against them, and made a plucky effort, and on several occasions Sinclair had a warm time. Determined pressing brought the homesters into the visitor’s territory, and they were dangerous looking when Robertson intervened and spoiled their effort. At about five minutes from time Walker netted a third for Rangers. Result – Rangers 3: Port Glasgow 0. In the first half the visitors had the best of play easily and even when playing with 10 men were quite equal. For the winners McColl, Mackie, Speedie, Robertson, Kyle and Sinclair were best. For Port Glasgow Ward, Clelland, McNeil, Hamilton and Hartley did splendid work. On the whole the Port team made a very good show, and have no reason to be ashamed of their defeat by their formidable opponents.
