Played at Ibrox Park before 20,000 spectators. The Rangers had the better of the play in the first half, but their shooting was very bad, and it was seldom that Philips was seriously tested, the Hearts defence with Thomson best, being very safe. Halftime result – No goals. The Hearts pressed hard at the opening of the second half, but there was little sting in their attack, and they were easily repelled for a time. A grand break through by Moran was successful for he shot across to Lavity, who beat Allan. Rangers settled down better after this and Speedie equalised with a header from a centre by A Smith. Hearts were the better team to the close, but could not add to their score. Result – A draw 1 goal each. Money drawn £444 at gates, and £36 at stands
